RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR REGINA PACIS COLLEGE PREAMBLE
Regina Pacis Higher Commercial College Mutengene is a Co-educational and Boarding Institution in Buea Diocese. Below are the rules that shall bind the College authorities (i.e. the Principal) on the one hand and the students and their Parents/Guardians on the other hand.
SECTION A : GENERAL RULES
1. Students must adhere strictly to the college horarium and be punctual at all college activities.
2. The Staff room, Staff houses, College Kitchen and store are out of bounds to students. So also are the dormitories and Refectory during Classes, Official study time and games.
3. Students should be neat and clean at all times with a “low cut hair style all round”.
4. The prescribed attire should be worn by all students as indicated in the prospectus.
5. Students are not allowed to put on coloured dresses in school, bring lockers and radio sets, except Secretarial Administration students. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited. They will be confiscated and never returned.
6. For promotion into examination classes, a student must obtain a pass mark in each of his or her annual average of 11. Promotion average for Non-examination classes is 10.
7. Religion, Economics, Commerce and Computer Studies are compulsory subjects.
8. Only medical certificates from confessional hospitals are respected. Parents should inform the school authorities or any medical history of their children.
9. No sick students must lie in the dormitory. Sick students must seek admission into the Sickbay.
10. Siesta is obligatory for all students. There should be silence in the dormitories during siesta and lights out until after morning mass and/or during morning duty.
11. No food item is allowed in the Boarding house.
12. All visitors are to be directed to the College reception or College Secretariat between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday ONLY.
13. Deposits or the term’s fees are non-refundable in cases of dismissal or unapproved withdrawal.
14. Special diets are not allowed.
15. Girls dormitories are out of bounds to boys and boys dormitories are out of bounds to girls.
16. Students are expected to pay for any school property which they damage (eg beds, windows, books, dinning room equipment, chairs etc).
17. Students must speak only the languages taught in the College- English and French.
18. Students are not allowed to smoke or take alcoholic drinks.
19. No student may leave the campus without the permission of the Principal or the Vice Principal or their lawful representatives. On return such students must report to them.
20. The Principal or his rightful representative alone shall be responsible for informing Parents/Guardians in case of student’s serious illness or any other information concerning students as the need may be.
21. No working personnel or Day student is allowed to run errands for students in the boarding house without the express permission of the competent authority, e.g. posting of letters, delivering information, buying etc.
22. No student has the right to inflict corporal punishment on another no matter the provocation.
23. All pocket allowance should be handed to the College Bursar and it should not be above 5,000 frs per term. The school authority is not responsible for money stolen in the dormitory.
24. The basic textbooks must be acquired to facilitate learning.
25. Uniforms and other private property of students must be boldly identified.
